Yeah, Mattel Really Is Trying to Make a View-Master Movie
According to Variety, Mattel is officially working on a live-action film about its 1940s-era 3D stereoscopic toy in collaboration with Sony Pictures and Escape Artists (the folks behind The Equalizer 3 and Mattel’s long-delayed live-action Masters of the Universe Amazon film).
Mattel, Lego and other toy companies are targeting a growing number of adults who are buying toys for themselves.
The toy maker is shuttering some plants and trimming product lines as it tries to respond more quickly to consumer demand.
