Chesapeake is a town in Kanawha County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 1,336 at the 2020 census. The town is situated on the Kanawha River. Chesapeake was incorporated on November 1, 1948, and was named for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway, which has served the community since 1873.
