WEBAug 15, 2012 · It is the "Distance to TJ Max", so the higher the better. The reason why is that the Tj Max is the temperature where the CPU would throttle itself down in order to reduce the heat. The Tj. Max is 98°C, so the further you are away from it, the better. In other words, your core temps are in the 30s, so you're all set.

WEBMar 3, 2009 · The TJ Max is the threshold at which your processor shuts down or throttles back to save it. It is just the max temp that your CPU can handle. CoreTemp shows you it so you don't go over it. It won't change. You can edit it in CoreTemp settings so it reads right. Just set the TJ Max offset to -5 or -10. Then it will read it right for you.
