WEBBecause when an Ethereal dies, the Tau feel it. When a Ethereal tells you to do something, you do it. So not exaaactly mind control but you have a strong uncontrollable urge to listen and obey. This might not apply to Humans and the other non Tau races though, but they might be under subtle Mind Control or Social engineering. Anything really.
